A blog written by Pro Triathlete Angela Naeth post Deporvillage Transpyr Backroads event, a 7- stage bike packing adventure through the Pyrenees mountains! This route covers roughly 620 miles with nearly 65,600 feet of cumulative elevation gain, averaging 90 miles and 9,370 feet of climbing per day. The event took place June 8-15th.

I just got back from Transpyr Backroads! What a great week. It was a road bike race event in the French Pyrenees (from Spain to France), including seven stages covering about 620 miles with nearly 65,600 feet of elevation gain. We climbed Tour de France's most famous mountain passes like Tourmalet, and the countryside was breathtaking. It was a great week on the bike and as the race's athlete female ambassador.

I came out with the overall win for all four timed stages in France and was the only female to finish the entire event in full. We were provided a ton of adversity from wet, cold freezing temps to descents where my teeth were chattering (My Instagram has a few pics and updates each day). It has inspired me to venture into more difficult events/races like Transpyr to showcase that women can conquer these challenges and take part.

I'm now in Lake Placid for a triathlon training camp - both training and supporting 30 athletes.

In July, I'll head to Quebec for the Cap Quebec Half event as an Argon18 ambassador and really looking forward to meeting the team and company at their Headquarters in Montreal.

Both IRACELIKEAGIRL and GIRLSGETGRITTY teams (200 women total) continue flourishing in triathlon and gravel. It's awesome supporting such a crew of women.

I am healing up from my hip surgery, and the jogging is progressing. It does take a bit to get my legs back since the hip joint is the big prime mover! I’m very happy though in how short of time (12 weeks!) things are progressing. I was once told this quote and am remind myself daily, "patience and consistency, equals success."  To that end, I have a number of races starred in my calendar for both gravel, 70.3, Ironman for the later season.  Eager to say the least!
