At H2O Audio, we’re inspired by individuals and organizations that push boundaries and create inclusive communities. That’s why we’re thrilled to highlight our ambassador, Crystal Kovacs, and her incredible work with Dirt Squad, a gravel cycling team breaking down barriers and welcoming riders of all levels.

What is Dirt Squad?

Founded by Crystal Kovacs, Dirt Squad is an inclusive gravel cycling team on a mission to make off-road riding accessible to everyone. Whether it’s providing mechanical knowledge, training guidance, or boosting confidence, Dirt Squad is about dismantling the idea that gravel cycling is only for experienced athletes.

“In our first year, 55% of our team members completed their first gravel event,” says Crystal. “Dirt Squad proves that longer rides are achievable for everyone. By offering education, hands-on support, and community connections, we’re redefining what gravel cycling is all about.”

What Makes Dirt Squad Unique?

Unlike performance-focused teams, Dirt Squad is all about community and camaraderie. Here’s how they’re making a difference:

  • Weekly Education Sessions: Riders gain skills and insights from industry leaders, making off-road riding less intimidating.
  • Event Support: Members receive VIP support from top brands and event partners at major events like Unbound and Mid-South.
  • Custom Kits and Exclusive Discounts: Each member gets a custom kit from Champion System and access to discounts from brands like Shimano, Salsa Cycles, Handup Gloves, H2O Audio and more.
  • Inclusivity: Open to all skill levels, Dirt Squad creates a space where beginners and seasoned cyclists alike feel welcome and supported.

Crystal Kovacs: Leading the Charge

As a passionate gravel cyclist and community leader, Crystal embodies the spirit of inclusivity and determination. Her leadership has made Dirt Squad a space where riders of all backgrounds can thrive, grow, and connect.

“Dirt Squad isn’t just about riding; it’s about building friendships, learning, and exploring together,” Crystal shares.

What’s Ahead for Dirt Squad in 2025?

For the 2025 season, Dirt Squad is expanding its reach with group meetups at marquee events, continued education sessions, and partnerships with leading cycling brands. Their goal is to make gravel cycling even more accessible and to inspire new riders to join the adventure.

If you’re looking to be part of a supportive, inclusive community and take on new challenges in gravel riding, Dirt Squad is ready to welcome you.
