PROTECTED VS PURCHASED MUSIC

It's important to understand the distinction between protected and purchased music when downloading files to your H2O Audio device:

  • Accepted File Formats: Your device supports MP3, M4A, WMA, and APE formats. Ensure your music files are in one of these formats and are DRM-free.
  • Subscription-based Services: Music from platforms like Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon Music, iHeartRadio, and Pandora is typically protected with DRM and cannot be directly downloaded to your device, as these services offer access to music rather than ownership.
  • Direct Downloads Only: Your device accepts files that are directly downloaded and unprotected. This ensures compatibility and uninterrupted playback.
TROUBLESHOOTING - iTunes MUSIC TRANSFER

If you're unable to transfer purchased music from iTunes, consider the following:

  • Cloud-based Music: Verify if your music is stored in iCloud rather than on your device. Look for a cloud symbol with a downward arrow next to the track in iTunes.
  • Downloading from iCloud: Click the cloud symbol to download the music file to your computer's hard drive. This step is necessary before transferring music to your H2O Audio device.
  • Transferring Music: Once downloaded, you can drag and drop or copy and paste the music files into your device's memory.
  • Further Assistance: If problems persist, our customer support is available to help via chat, email, or phone.

BLUETOOTH LIMITATIONS UNDERWATER

Bluetooth connectivity underwater is subject to specific limitations due to the nature of the technology and its interaction with water:

  • Bluetooth and Water: Bluetooth signals have difficulty penetrating water, which significantly reduces their range when submerged.
  • Limited Range Underwater: When swimming, the effective range of Bluetooth might be just a few inches. This limitation is crucial to consider during lap swimming or similar activities.
  • Optimal Use Cases: While Bluetooth is versatile for many scenarios above water, its connectivity can be compromised underwater if the H2O Audio device or the source device is submerged or placed too far apart.

Successful Streaming Scenarios

Despite the underwater limitations, there are several water-related activities where Bluetooth streaming remains viable:

Anytime you can maintain a Bluetooth direct line of sight within a distance of 30 ft without submerging the (DEVICE) you can live Stream without interruption. Kickboard drills with your head and device out of water, treading water, water aerobics, stand up paddling, kayaking, boating or relaxing in a jacuzzi are all scenarios where you can live stream successfully via Bluetooth without interruption.

SOUND & HEADPHONE TROUBLESHOOTING

The Stream 3 is a Dual Mode Player. This means it accepts either our Surge, SX10 or Bone Conduction  Series headphones.

DYNAMIC SPEAKERS

We use our patented waterproofing technology that sometimes requires the speakers to be equalized due to pressure. Think of the speakers as an empty plastic water bottle - and if you take that in an airplane it will deform due to ambient pressure which is different from the pressure inside the bottle. We need to get the bottle to release and pop it back to normal form.

If there is a faint or muffled sound this can be resolved via the  troubleshooting steps below. If there is buzzing crackling or is completely silent this cannot be fixed. In this case, please contact us directly: support@h2oaudio.com.

If you are experiencing sound quality issues - there are a few possible scenarios:

  • There is water trapped between the speaker and the earplug. Solution: tap the speakers and try to get the drop of water out. Also gently blowing into the speaker might help. Once the water dries up - it should sound normal. To avoid this during swimming, try different size earplugs and find one that keeps the best seal/fit.
  • The speaker is not completely equalized. Solution: Play loud/full volume music through the speakers and let the music run for a while. This will slowly help equalize the speakers. To expedite, you can gently suck and blow air into the speaker which will reset the membrane.
  • If you remove the blue ear tips and tap the speaker on a firm surface you can release the membrane.
  • Soak the affected speaker in very warm water to break down any residue or build up - repeat steps 1-4.
  • Please test the headphones on a different device to determine if the issue is the source device or the headphones.

BONE CONDUCTION SPEAKERS

  • The  H2O Audio Surge Bone Conduction headphones are only compatible with StreamDM and Stream Pro. If you are experiencing sound issues make sure your player is compatible.
  • The H2O Audio Surge Bone Conduction headphones are NOT compatible with Stream 2.
  • For lack of sound in one channel or distortion check the input jack and make sure the jack is pushed all the way into the player.
  • If either side of your Interval bone conduction speakers is not producing sound please reach out directly via email: support@h2oaudio.com.
RESET

Press and hold the PLAY/PAUSE button for 12 seconds to reset the device.

*Please note: Performing a reset will not erase any downloaded audio from the memory device.
