What are Bone Conduction Headphones?

Solid product

These are the best option I’ve found for Prone paddling. Easy to use and the over ear design is super comfortable. I would and have recommended these to friends.

Perfect for swimming

Why I bought Tri 2?
1. I wanted bone conducted headphones for swimming. Till now I used conventional headphones with special earbuds for swimming. Because of them I had to put volume nearly to the maximum in the pool. More over I had to change earbuds between swims and runs/fitness.
2. I wanted headphones that can last 1.5-2 hours in the pool. Conventional ones last 30 minutes.
3. I prefer Tri 2 to other well known bone conducted headphones because of easy playback control of mp3 player (next/prev song/folder and etc.)

Thoughts after 1 month of usage (I use only MP3 mode).
Fitting: Tri 2 looks solid and are only 36 gr. They are stable during running. No problems with road helmet too. For swimming they can't be put under cap. It is a little bit tricky to put cap because headphone "ring" stays outside. Nevertheless no problems during swimming. May be it will be good to have two sizes with possibility to put Tri 2 under swimming cap.

Connectivity: To transfer music I connect Tri 2 to PC. Transfer is very slow - about 1MB/s. but normally it is done once, so not a problem.

Sound: perfect sound compared to conventional swim players. For me sound is even better in the water.

Charging/Battery life: Charging time and battery life are according to the specifications. At Power ON battery level is reported. During playback low battery level is reported. As a functionality it is OK but reports are misleading. After 2 hours of usage level is reported HIGH. When there is 1 hour remaining MEDIUM is reported. About 2-3 minutes after LOW level is reported (during playback) headphones goes OFF. From my point of view when MEDIUM is reported there have to be at least 2 hours. Also I expect to have LOW level warning at 20% or 1 hour. Again: functionality is there, but it has to be tuned may be with update of the SW. When you put headphones and are ready to swim/run/bike it is too late to charge (no fast charge available - something like 1 hour playback for 3-5 minutes). That it why may be it is good idea to report level also at Power OFF to know when to charge.

Takes Zoning Out to a New Level

I love these for just floating in the pool with a noodle under my knees, a noodle under my back and a noodle under my neck. Let me float with the wind.

Only problem is that the pool is the “water cooler” of the community so a lot of people want to talk. But these are great for zoning in the pool.

Headset

Absolutely love this headset I easily downloaded some tunes and when I used the headset I could clearly hear the music it really made the time spent in the water go by quickly. I have a hearing loss and when I tried other products the music wasn’t loud enough the H2O headset volume was great

Gift

The tri-2 is a gift to my son, he won’t receive it until mid may. However I have one myself and it took me a very long time to figure out how to get mp3 music of tracks that I like to listen and exercise too. In the end I recorded some cd’s on my phone. The sound is less then great but it is better and more entertaining then no music at all. I’m hoping by giving this gift to my son, he will be motivated to help me find better way to get music on my devise.
