Get to Know Jennifer

I was a D1 collegiate swimmer and needed / wanted a competitive outlet after graduation. Triathlon became that for me… and I’ve now been racing for over 25 years (!!!). It’s more than a sport, it’s a lifestyle, a community, and something that brings me joy year after year. I love pushing myself and seeing what the body can do as I “level up” in years.

Honestly, the biggest one is the personal growth. I used to be all about the outcome, pushing harder, going faster. But over time, I’ve learned to train with intention, race with perspective, and respect my body through every season. That shift has been the most rewarding milestone.

I was looking for something that didn’t go directly into my ears and could handle swim sessions too. H2O Audio fit the bill perfectly. The flexibility is awesome, and I really respect how dedicated the company is to quality, innovation and support.

It gives me something to look forward to, especially during those long solo sessions. There’s something about music that makes it all fly by a little faster.

I don’t always listen to music, I do like to just “be in my head” a bit. Music isn’t allowed in racing, so I like to replicate that in workouts. Saying that, I do enjoy the “pick me up” music offers!! You can’t argue that! When I was training for Worlds last year, I hit a stretch where those double workouts felt extra tough. Late season fatigue is real. Popping on music totally changed the game. Sometimes, the right song is the spark you need.

It’s about shifting your mindset. Music can take you out of your head, remind you why you love the sport, and help you stay present. It turns the grind into something energizing, and that’s gold when you're deep in a training block.

Play the long game. Fast results are tempting, but real strength and confidence come from consistency. Be curious, stay coachable, and don’t forget to enjoy the process, it’s where the magic happens.
