Get to Know Kendra

What inspired you to pursue your sport?

I’ve loved to run for as long as I can remember. I was hooked when I first competed in a youth Track and Field program. Since then I’ve transitioned from Sprinting to Ultramarathons.

What are your proudest Go Beyond achievements or milestones?

I’m proud of the person I became during my training for an Ultramarathon. Crossing the finish was amazing; however, I’m most proud of the work I put in during the entire process.

Why did you choose to work with H2O Audio?

I love music and training. The open ear design helps me feel safe in all environments while still enjoying great sound quality.

How has H2O Audio enhanced your training or performance?

Whether I’m out on a long run or grinding through a solo ride, headphones are a game-changer for performance. They help me zone in, block out distractions, and stay mentally focused. The right beat helps me keep at a steady cadence, maintain rhythm, and push through when fatigue hits. For longer endurance sessions, music or podcasts make the miles fly by and keep my mind sharp. It’s more than just background noise—it’s fuel for focus and flow.

What’s your go-to music or playlist during workouts, and what type of workout do you use it for?

Hip/Hop and Rap are a go to for me, mixing in some pop and 80’s Rock depending on my workout! Spotify DJ has been a go-to for me lately.

Share a memorable moment or story from your training where H2O Audio made a difference.

While I was riding at a cycling camp in Tucson, I remember really getting in my own head with doubts about how much slower I was than everyone else. After I turned on my headphones, I was able to focus on myself and my journey, tuning out the doubts!

How do our headphones help keep you motivated during tough sessions or races?

Headphones turn every tough workout into a personal zone. Music or podcasts help block out distractions, push through the pain, and keep me focused when my mind wants to quit. A good playlist can change the entire vibe—suddenly the workout feels like momentum, not struggle.

What advice would you give to aspiring athletes?

Fall in love with the process. Learn from every setback, celebrate the small wins, and remember that consistency always beats intensity over time. The best athletes aren't just chasing results, they’re committed to who they’re becoming along the way.
