Over the past two weeks, we’ve celebrated the strength, balance, and determination of moms who push boundaries—in parenting, in sport, and in life. In this final installment of our Go Beyond Moms series, we continue honoring the women who show us that training isn’t just about performance—it’s about presence, resilience, and making space for self-care.
These moms don’t just find time—they make it. Between early alarms, packed schedules, and nonstop responsibility, they’ve chosen movement as a way to recharge and reconnect. Their stories remind us that going beyond is less about perfection and more about showing up—again and again.
Meet Samantha Faddis
Engineer, DEKA Elite Athlete, Mom
"As mothers, we put a lot of pressure on ourselves to balance it all. It’s never going to be perfectly balanced. Once I realized this, it took a lot of stress out of my training. I am consistent with my training as much as I can be because I want to show my children what hard work and a healthy lifestyle looks like. However, some days just don’t go as planned, so I think it’s important to give yourself a little bit of grace on those days. I want to teach my children that we can do hard things, that hard work pays off, and that we can pick ourselves back up if the outcome isn’t what we hoped for or expected. Winning and performing well is fun, but seeing them be excited about working out and doing hard things is the most rewarding part of it all."
Meet Meghan Freese
Professional Triathlete, Emergency Veterinarian, Mom
"Being a mom has been the most rewarding journey in my life. I have taught them and will continue to teach them everything I know and try guiding them in the right direction. I have tried to inspire them through sport by exemplifying dedication, hard work, teamwork and goal setting. I have taught there will be good days and bad days but those bad days do not define you. I have taught them love, kindness and compassion through my job as an emergency veterinarian. Teaching them to show kindness to even the smallest of creatures.
Somewhere along our journey they started inspiring me. I saw dedication, drive, compassion and kindness even when they didn't know I was looking. I never realized but they have been teaching me all along the way. I am so proud to be their mom and I remind them everyday that I am their biggest fan."
Meet Katie Duke
Deka Elite Athlete, Physical Therapist, Mom
“We all know how valuable it is for our kids to watch us train and work hard and fight to win a race. I’m grateful my kids have gotten to watch me in different events and stand on podiums, but I’m even more grateful that they have gotten to watch me fail. This year they watched me wipe tears away after a race, pick myself up and go on to cheer for my friends and then come home and start training again. I think giving our kids the gift of freedom to care about something, to put yourself out there and try is so valuable. I want to teach them to love the process, try their best and to be proud of their preparation and that outcomes do not define them..”

As we wrap up this special series, we’re reminded that every rep, every lap, every moment carved out for movement is an act of love—not just for others, but for themselves.
