Official Headphone Sponsor – H2O Audio

Prone racing is on the rise in Newport Beach, and the 3rd annual El Morro Classic proved it once again. Held at the iconic Newport Aquatic Center, this 15-mile "hands only" prone paddle race has quickly become one of the must-do events of the summer.

H2O Audio was proud to serve as the official headphone sponsor, supporting athletes who push beyond the ordinary, whether on land or in open water.

The course winds through scenic Newport Harbor, out past the Corona del Mar coastline, and all the way to the point at El Morro before paddlers turn around and battle their way back. With both Catalina Classic and Ben Did Go 2025 qualifier status, the competition was fierce and the energy electric. Plus the amazing weather did not disappoint!

Whether athletes were training for Molokai to Oahu, Catalina, or simply out to challenge themselves, the race brought out the best in the paddling community. Divisions included Men’s Stock, 14’, and Unlimited, as well as the Women’s Open Prone Division.

Big thanks to the Newport Aquatic Center and all the volunteers who made this event possible. And a huge congratulations to every single athlete who took on the course — your strength, focus, and grit were incredible to witness.

Scroll down to check out some of our favorite moments from the race — and stay tuned for more events where H2O Audio continues to go beyond.
